Engineering solutions company announces relocation to Overland Park

Actavo

OVERLAND PARK, KS - Actavo Engineering Services, LLC, which specializes in the design of global fiber networks, is moving to Overland Park. The company has revealed plans to create up to 40 additional jobs here over the next 12 months.

Welcoming the move, Christopher Ruddle, CEO North America, Actavo | Network & In-Home Division, said “Actavo is delighted to be moving to the Cloverleaf Office Complex in Overland Park. Our relocation will see approximately 60 existing Actavo team members moving from a 6,000-square-foot to a 17,000-square-foot office space, beginning in the near future. The Kansas City metroplex offers Actavo a superb opportunity to recruit top-tier engineering talent and grow the organization in a flourishing environment.”

Actavo Engineering Services, LLC, is responsible for the survey and design of telecommunications networks across the United States, Caribbean, United Kingdom and Ireland. It has designed fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks for numerous major carriers and communities, representing 60,000 miles of fiber optic cable, passing over 6 million homes and businesses.

Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach responded to the announcement saying, “I want to congratulate Actavo on their many years of service that ‘Goes Beyond.’ Overland Park’s motto is: ‘Above and Beyond. By Design.’ Actavo’s presence internationally, and now here in Overland Park, brings technology advancement that will further spur development and address consumer online demands. I look forward to this partnership that truly benefits Overland Park, the nation and beyond.”

“Whenever a company like Actavo Engineering Services selects Kansas, it reflects highly on our workforce, our pro-business policies and the highly-skilled labor force for technology companies,” said Kansas Department of Commerce Interim Secretary Nick Jordan. “We thank Actavo for its commitment to creating new jobs in Kansas, and we look forward to the company’s success in the future.”

Ruddle said the company plans to scale up its Overland Park team to 200 over the next five years. “Overland Park has become a hub for engineering excellence, drawing talent from the University of Missouri Kansas City, University of Kansas, University of Missouri, Kansas State University and several other close universities and Actavo looks forward to playing a role in that dynamic ecosystem,” he explained.
